The '2026 Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Expo' is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary from September 22 to November 1, running for 41 days at the Danghangpo Tourist Site in Goseong, Gyeongsangnam-do. Under the theme 'Exciting Adventure with Dinosaurs,' the expo will feature a rich array of exhibitions and interactive programs. Celebrating Two Decades: A Diverse Dinosaur Extravaganza

Goseong County, renowned as one of the world's top three sites for dinosaur footprints, has hosted the 'Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Expo' since 2006. In 2026, it will mark its tenth installment and 20th anniversary. Hosted by Goseong County, Gyeongsangnam-do, and operated by the Goseong Cultural Tourism Foundation, the expo is gearing up to welcome visitors at the Danghangpo Tourist Site (1116 Danghangman-ro, Hoehwa-myeon, Goseong County, Gyeongsangnam-do) with the theme 'Exciting Adventure with Dinosaurs.'

The expo promises a wealth of dinosaur-themed content, including exhibition halls, experiential zones, and outdoor theme areas. Beyond main attractions like dinosaur parades, circus performances, and robot dinosaur live shows, visitors can also enjoy diverse hands-on programs such as large-scale fossil excavation, dinosaur drawing, and dinosaur feeding. These activities are designed to offer memorable experiences for all ages.

Danghangpo Tourist Site: Attractions and Regional Benefits

The Danghangpo Tourist Site, where the expo is held, is not only a dinosaur-themed destination but also a historically significant location. It was here that Admiral Yi Sun-sin achieved victory in the Battle of Danghangpo during the Imjin War. Alongside the dinosaur theme zone, visitors can explore the Yi Sun-sin theme zone, which includes a naval battle hall and a 'Turtle Ship' experience center, offering both education and entertainment. During the expo, Danghangpo Tourist Site will operate from 9 AM to 5 PM on weekdays, extending to 9 PM on weekends and public holidays with special evening openings, enhancing visitor convenience.

To attract visitors from outside the area, Goseong County will launch the 'Gyeongnam Goseong Half-Price Travel' policy starting in late August. After pre-registering and spending over 100,000 KRW at designated tourist sites on accommodation, food and beverages, or experiences, visitors can receive 50% of their spending back in mobile Goseong Sarang Gift Certificates. This benefit offers up to 100,000 KRW per individual, up to 500,000 KRW per family, and up to 200,000 KRW for general groups of two or more, aiming to boost the local economy.

Admission tickets for the 2026 Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Expo can be purchased at a discounted rate through advance booking until September 21. Adult tickets are available for 15,500 KRW (an 18% discount from the regular price of 19,000 KRW), and child tickets are 7,500 KRW (a 42% discount from 13,000 KRW). Visitors traveling to Goseong from Seoul can expect a journey of approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes by intercity bus. Public transportation is available from the Goseong Intercity Bus Terminal to the Danghangpo Tourist Site.
